"What" "When" "Why" "How"

GoodDy stands for Good Dentistry. It is a Social Company developed with the purpose of providing volunteer dental care with ZERO costs, in partnership with local charities around the globe.

The idea was first inspired in 2012 when I, Carlos Alberto, was working as a Dental Surgeon in the Amazon forest for a governmental sector of Brazil that aimed to look after riverside populations and indigenous people across the national territory.

Part of my inspiration for the project came when I applied to join the well-known independent global movement, Doctors Without Borders and their feedback was that they did not require the support of dental professionals.

At the time, I felt powerless, disrespected and embarrassed. It took me some years to realise that if I couldn’t join such a movement, then I should start my own.

To support this project I had to find ways to raise funds, free myself of old fears and grow the number of opportunities that would help accomplish its purpose.

My journey began in 2018 when I left my home country of Brazil, moved to Europe and began exploring ways to generate passive income so that I could focus my time on acting on behalf of this project.
